Bulbs

Botanically, the bulbs are organs of vegetative reproduction (without pollination) that allow the plant to go into a phase of dormancy in the most difficult periods and then re-emerge in the most favourable periods.
From the gardening point of view the bulbs are very exploited because their blooms have a high aesthetic value, often being very flashy, large or of particularly colorful flowers. Among them are also spring bulbs such as daffodils and tulips, whose peculiarity is to bloom in the early spring period, when much of the vegetation is still awakening.
In the Biblioteca degli Alber park, the bulbs have been used in several ways:
– In small groups of about 20 individuals among some ground cover species (Narcissus)
– In small groups of about 20 individuals in the flowery meadows (Narcissus and Iris)
– In a scattered and natural way to enrich the flowering meadows, even with late spring and summer blooms Think now of the beautiful flowering possibilities of more than 44,500 bulbs wisely placed throughout the park!
