Mozart Top Ten!
A compilation of Mozart’s hits in an irreverent and overwhelming blender. Famous thems are mixed together and interwoven. A famous opera aria such as “I don’t know what I am, or what I’m doing” becomes a seductive bossa nova and the borderline between classic and pop risks losing all shades.
Mozart Top Ten is built like super show hits, where the famous and less famous themes of the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart reveal themselves to be what they are: cultural world heritage.
Nicoletta Tiberini on vocals and Nadio Marenco on the accordion have been collaborating since 2008 after Saul Beretta introduced them, creating an evergreen musical duo. These versatile musicians having enormous sensitivity and creativity cross genres, moving freely from folk to jazz, then from musical theatre to singing-songwriting to give their personal interpretation of the repertoire of the great Mozart.
Nadio Marenco is an accordion champion. He moves freely from Piazzolla to Vivaldi and then from folk songs to the frenzied Balkan rhythms that he tackles with the Rhapsodija Trio, of which he is an integral part since 2010. He studied the accordion with Sergio Scappini and has played in many different musical combinations and genres, from Gianni Coscia’s sophisticated jazz to TV appearances with Bruno Gambarotta, Renato Pozzetto, Cochi Ponzoni, Iva Zanicchi, Memo Remigi, Enzo Jannacci, Claudio Rossi and the Fisorchestra C. Pattaccini as first accordion. He plays on a permanent basis with Alessio Nebiolo, playing as a duo or as soloist, and has performed at festivals and in concerts around the world. He has been collaborating with Musicamorfosi since 2008.
Nicoletta Tiberini took her diploma in jazz from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Como and gained her Master’s Degree in “Artist in Leadership” at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama of London. She works as singer/performer, workshop leader and singing teacher in England, Sweden and Italy. In Italy, she has been collaborating with Musicamorfosi since 2008. As of today, she has taken part in educational, musical and cross art projects in the Netherlands, Iceland, England, Argentina, Bali, Singapore and Israel. She continues her artistic research by exploring cultures and traditions of the world and relating her voice and body percussion to other artistic forms.
